AC series transformer boxes

Connect Lubell underwater speakers to a suitable amplifier you already own. Each box isolates the speaker, matches the impedance and flattens the response.

Lubell isolation transformer box with model and amplifier rating table

Overview

A Lubell underwater speaker is never connected straight to an amplifier. Between the two sits a transformer box, which does three jobs. It isolates the speaker in the water from the amplifier for safety. It matches the speaker to the amplifier, so the amplifier works as designed. And a tuned circuit limits the current and flattens the frequency response for music and voice.

The AC203E and AC211 Circuit Masters go one step further: they split one amplifier between an underwater speaker and an air speaker, with a control to balance the two. At full drive, no box sends more than 20 V rms at 3 A to the underwater speaker.

Highlights

  • Isolation transformer for safety
  • Impedance matching for the amplifier
  • Tuned circuit limits current and flattens the response

Choosing a box

The right box depends on your amplifier and on how many speakers you need. Tell us which amplifier you have, or plan to buy, and we will suggest a box to the best of our knowledge.

Keep the box and the amplifier in a dry, ventilated place. Mains powered amplifiers must be connected through a residual current device (RCD).
